To pop or not to pop whiteheads?

Are you supposed to pop whiteheads or just let them be? Please explain why.To pop or not to pop whiteheads?

You can pop a whitehead, but you have to do it correctly.


1) Take a safety pin and poke a hole, or two, in it.


2) Squeeze. (To be even more technical about it, you have to sort of get under the pimple and then squeeze. But that's hard to explain via typing. LOL.)





Here's why you shouldn't pop a whitehead (this is if you do it wrong):


If you don't pop a hole in it first, the pressure from the squeezing will actually force some of the bacteria back down into your skin. Sometimes, ultimately, scarring your skin.





Does that make sense? You need to make a hole for the pus to escape easily.

they are nasty looking.


just pop it enough for the white stuff to come out and when its mostly or all out, immediatley put a gel spot treatment, like neutrogen on it and rub it in.


let it dry b4 you put makeup on it.


it does not scar always. sometimes it might but you can get medrema or green tea scar remover.
the reason you shouldn't pop them is because of all the bacteria.


If u want to pop it cause I mean its not exactly attractive be real easy cause yes it is true that u could cause a scar, but if u want to pop it make sure you wash your hands and sanatize them, and after you pop it rub some hand sanatizer on that area.


that will help not irratate the other areas around it.

they say not to because it could scare. But man, who wants to walk around with a huge whitehead? pop that baby!
